O.K., I have downloaded the patch numerous times and restarted the computer whenever the patch did not install. But, still, I get some error about "old file not found, not going to be overwritten because contents do not match" or some error like that.
WHY?!?! I want to continue playing this game from where I left off. I was waiting for a patch.

are you trying to install the patch with the auto-updater or an executable that you downloaded??
well, i guess the obvious response is to try the auto-updater. ;)
well, thats odd. have you tried installing both the international and the US versions of the patch??
if neither one of those methods work, then try re-installing your game (making sure to back-up your game saves first). that should do the trick. :)
I have the U.S. version and I have already tried reinstalling.
